Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a holistic massage therapy that originated from the Indian sub-continent and has been practised for thousands of years. It strives to restore balance and inner harmony to the mind, body and spirit and improve the health of the individual.

The practice of Indian Head Massage is passed down from generation to generation - mothers to daughters; fathers to sons. Mothers will massage their babies everyday, and between the ages of 3 and 6 the children are massaged once or twice a week. Oils are used to keep their hair in top condition, protecting it against harm from the blistering heat but more generally they massage without oils as they are dependant upon availability, cost and season. For a newcomer to massage therapies, this is an excellent starting point. It's quick (20mins), its easy to perform, you don't even need to undress, you can stay clothed - so is an excellent way of getting used to receiving a massage and how that feels, to see if you like it.

It can even be performed sitting on a standard dining-room or office chair and is thoroughly relaxing and invigorating; Which also makes it a brilliant office-based motivational tool if used as a reward for your staff. Gift vouchers for this treatment can be bought to give as a treat.
